TRAVEL
GETTING AROUND
If you’re looking to explore the islands you will want to rent a car from the airport. Uber and Lyft do not exist on both Sanibel and Captiva Islands.
We encourage renting cars in groups so you can drive to the Sunday brunch and airport.
If flying into RSW, taxi’s are readily available upon arrival (flat fee of $75). You will have to pre-book your taxi back to the airport in advance if you do not have a car rental. We recommend using Island Taxi by calling 239-472-4888.
A shuttle service will be provided for the wedding night to and from ‘Tween Waters Inn.
Lucky for you, we’ve spent a lot of time on this island and have gotten to know the best spots.
Here are some of our favorites!
The Bubble Room - Our favorite dessert spot on Captiva. MUST get the red velvet, double chocolate and orange crush cake. (But also you will have a chance to try it at the wedding) *Note, the restaurant is no longer open but the cake building should be open!*
Doc Fords - It’s where Klair & Will had their first date!
Sanibel Bean Coffee - Back up and running!
Billy’s Rentals - Rent bikes for the day (or the weekend!) on Sanibel to get around.
John Ding Darling Nature Preserve - Kayak or bike through the nature sanctuary. Also makes a beautiful drive. Keep your eyes open for the roseate spoonbills and alligators! *Temporarily closed but fingers crossed it opens up soon!*
National Shell Museum - Shell yeah this is the seashell capital of the world. If you are lucky enough to find a Junonia please give it to Will, he’s dying to be in the local newspaper.
Sanibel restaurants: Doc Fords, Rosalita’s Cantina, Mudbugs Cajun Grill, Gramma Dots, Cielo, Blue Rendez Vous
Captiva restaurants: Key Lime Bistro, Crow’s Nest Bar & Grill, Old Captiva House, Green Flash
